St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Bellevue Washington is seeking a person with formal training and skills in the area of children's ministries who can equip other people to do ministry as well as offer creative programming. The position would include provision for Christian education of children from girth and baptism through high school. There would need to be integration of the basic education program with confirmation and other youth ministries. This position would be one of direction and oversight and would have an advisory capacity on the Faith Formation Board.
Immediate Supervisor: Senior Pastor
Responsibilities: The main focus would be Sunday School and its implementation An awareness of the "big picture" encompassing the calendar events for the entire year. The staff person would take leadership in the coordination of the following events.
* Rally Sunday in September
* Faith Stepping Stones as they occur (Baptism, entry into Sunday School,3rd grade Bibles, First Communion, Confirmation, Graduation from High School)
* Advent Fair
* Christmas Program
* Events at Easter time
* End of Sunday School Year Celebration and awards
* Vacation Bible School
* Wiggle Room on Sunday mornings * Nursery
* Cradle Roll
Ministry Board Support: Serve as a resource person on the Faith Formation Board
Part-time - 20 hr/week
Salary to be determined based on education and experience
