| Job Description: |
Description: Plan, control, and organize all aspects of leading worship (along with a contemporary / rock worship band) for the following ministries: TeenServe, a workcamp missions trip for junior and senior high youth groups (www.teenserve.org); The Verge, a local teen club featuring live music, pool, air hockey and a smoothie/espresso bar (www.attheverge.com ); and Thrive, a local youth ministry event. Put together musical missions team(s) to travel to international locations (starting with Japan).
Responsibilities:
- Put together a rock worship band (using CWMI musical interns) to lead worship and to play at The Verge, Thrive and during the summer at each TeenServe workcamp.
- Develop methods to promote and build the CWMI musical internship program throughout the USA to ensure that talented musicians are available every year.
- Put together a musical ministry team (using interns and others) to travel to Japan on an annual basis.
- Build and operate an audio recording studio to allow interns to record an album every year.
- Lead small group worship for interns as necessary.
- Consult with and provide direction for CWMI leadership regarding sound and lighting needs.
- Book Christian bands to play at The Verge twice a month.
- Travel to churches / schools / clubs to promote TeenServe and the CWMI musical internship program.
- General administrative assistance regarding standard ministry business.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Music/Missions/Youth Ministry.
- 1 – 5 years experience in, and a passion for youth ministry.
- 1 – 5 years experience in, and a passion for directing a high energy worship team / leading worship.
- 1 – 5 years experience in, and a passion for mentoring young musicians.
